see below
sudo port install bittorrent @5.2.0 ---> Computing dependencies for bittorrent Error: Cannot install bittorrent for the arch(s) 'x86_64' because Error: its dependency py25-wxpython only supports the arch(s) 'i386 ppc'. Error: Unable to execute port: architecture mismatch

I wasn't sure if I was supposed to make this as fixed
or wontfix
. The port is using py25-wxpython-2.8
since r110279 which can be installed with the option +gtk
which is supposed to work on 64-bit systems, but I didn't test it.
But see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent_%28software%29:
Since version 6.0 the BitTorrent client has been a rebranded version of µTorrent. As a result, it is no longer open source and is currently available for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X.
The port cannot be updated because the new version is not OpenSoure and the old version isn't maintained any more. The old version doesn't support wxWidgets 2.9 and never will (unless someone forks it and keeps maintaining it).
My suggestion would be to remove the port, but that depends on whether any users still find it useful. (Personally I'm a happy user of Transmission.)
In case that the new revision of bittorrent
doesn't work and you would like to see it working, please open a new ticket and attach the full main.log
.
This port is outdated; until it's updated to a newer version you'll be better off using the version provided at the developers web site, as was noted a year ago in #32197.
