Description
This is really convoluted...but the only way I can see how to view "installed" and "outdated" packages is to do a search for some string (I chose "dumb"), then alter the search criteria to ignore that search term and just show state=installed and state=outdated.
Also, there are a load of useless menus (like help - "Help isn’t available for Pallet.") that are just clutter.
The search wouldn't be as annoying if it remembered it's state on start-up, but in it's current state...it's kinda dumb.

This ancient ticket refers (more or less) to a version of Pallet that no longer exists.
Pallet is presently broken, and has been for about 10 years.
The current best shot at building something would be to start with the github repo at <https://github.com/macports/pallet.git>
juanger has retired.
