port mdmg fails because pax crashes

If I run

mdmg abiword-x11

I get on everey package an error message similar to:

--->  Fetching archive for gdbm
--->  Unpacking tbz2 archive for gdbm 1.10_2
--->  Creating pkg for gdbm-1.10
Error: org.macports.pkg for port gdbm returned: command execution failed

If I run mdmv again this next package generates this error the packages before seems to work.

pax appears to be crashing:

Could you find and attach the crash log? It might be in /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports.
