Hello!

The current version of valgrind in macports (3.9.0) doesn't support Mac OS X Mavericks, but the current release (3.10.0) supports it according to the valgrind website.

Can someone update to the new version?

"someone" is the maintainer whom you should cc when filing tickets (port info --maintainers valgrind). Note that a "request" ticket type is only for requesting a new port.

Sorry, I'm still quite untrained here. I thought somehow the port maintainer would be automatically cc'ed or something. And I was in doubt about the "update" and "request" ticket types.
