Portfile for Salt 2014.7.0

Component: ports Version: 2.3.3

Port: salt

Description

Attached is a Portfile for 2014.7.0. This port depends on raet (ticket #45958), ioflo (ticket #45957), libnacl (ticket #45898), and libsodium (already present in MacPorts).

Both this version and the version for 2014.1.13 (ticket #44300) should be included in MacPorts as some users may wish to stay with the pre-2014.7 branch until 2014.7.xx has matured a little more.

Then the ports will need different names. There can only be one copy of a portfile of a given name in the repository at a time.

I'm confused then, can't different versions co-exist?

The packages need different names if you want them available separate (e.g. salt-2014.1 and salt-2014.7). Otherwise, a user should checkout an old version of the Portfile to get the old definition.

Oh, OK. I don't need them separate. We can direct folks to the right place if they need 2014.1.

You could also go with a salt / salt-devel setup, where salt is the stable version and salt-devel is a development version. By convention, the ports would conflict with each other and be interchangeable (e.g., would provide the same files). See libgcc and libgcc-devel, for example.

@larryv I might consider that for a 'salt-git' port sometime in the future. For now I'm just eager to get 2014.7 in MacPorts.

The attached patch suffers from the same problem that the 2014.1.13 suffered from. Is there now a consensus what the naming should be for this? Shall I provide an updated Portfile for 2014.7.2 and we're done with it?
