Description

I am attempting to install mysql56 on Mac OS X 10.6.8. Many files not found and installation fails.

The first error in the log is: 

error: /usr/local/lib/assert.h: Permission denied

It is not supported to have files installed in /usr/local while using MacPorts because it interferes with MacPorts. See wiki:FAQ#usrlocal. Remove what you have installed in /usr/local, sudo port clean mysql56, then try again.
