Description
There is a newer version available for py-gobject3
:
> port livecheck py-gobject3 py-gobject3 seems to have been updated (port version: 3.28.3, new version: 3.34.0)
additionally, there is no py38
subport yet - which is a dependency for py-matplotlib
.
Question for the maintainer: have you attempted updating or is there a reason for not doing so (I notice there are quite some dependents and perhaps it's not possible)? Alternatively, could we just add a py38
subport for now, although I am not sure that the current MacPorts version from ~1.5 years ago supports it.

In the meantime py-gobject3 does have a py38 subport but it doesn't work right and the port hasn't been updated. The latest version upstream is now 3.36.1. Maybe updating would help.
