Description
Building the base system from scratch after an update to Big Sur fails with:
fatal error: too many errors emitted, stopping now [-ferror-limit=]
I'm using Xcode 12.1, Build version 12A7403. Running software update indicates that everything is up to date.
The errors all pop up in access.c:

Xcode 12.1 is not compatible with macOS 11 Big Sur. You need Xcode 12.2 or later.
Xcode 12.2 is available at https://developer.apple.com/download/more/?=Xcode%2012.2

Thanks for the download link. Installing Xcode 12.2 grabbing latest on the release-2.6 branch got me a clean build.
Note: See
TracTickets for help on using
tickets.
Oddly, https://developer.apple.com/download/ shows an Xcode 12.3 beta but no Xcode 12.2 🤔
