I have this same problem on an M1 macbook. Additionally, if you try to install gcc11 on a clean system, it is missing the zstd dependency and you get a build error (once you install zstd, you get this error).

I too have this problem ... M1 MacBook running Monterey 13.01, Macports 2.7.1. My zipped main.log file is over 3Mb ... will submit on request, tho' may be redundant.

I am trying to install gcc11 on Macbook pro M1 running Monterey 12.0.1 and I have the same problem. Similar logfile with same error. I tried to clean port install, install older version libgcc9, but depencies to libgcc11 still required and install failed.

All released versions of gcc are incompatible with Apple Silicon. Use the libgcc-devel and gcc-devel ports for compatibility with Apple Silicon for now, until gcc12 is released, which will hopefully be compatible.
Has duplicate #64184
