Description
There is one another problem with qgis3 port, which I found recently. After update to QGIS 3.0.1 (I made it ~10 minutes after committing to 3.0.1 version to repositories), qgis started to by very sluggish and unresponsive. Scrolling through long layers list, renaming layers, adding new points are very lagging. In the same time official version (from Kyngchaos), which I installed on VM works really fast. I send two screen records with adding new points on both version.
I tried to reactivate old version of Macports's qgis @3.0.0_2 but it was still slow and unresponsive. Therefore I think it could be something with dependencies (when upgrading to qgis 3.0.1 I made "upgrade outdated" command). I tried to reactivate some old versions dependencies but problem is still there.

Since you do have KingChaos version installed, could you please take a snapshot of the "about" dialogue showing what libraries this version is linked against? Thanks.

Sorry for such a late response. I send here the screenshot of Kyngchos's About sections (recent version available there).

I wonder if all the mess is not caused by linking against Qt 5.10. I’ll add a +qt59 variant to link against Qt 5.9 and see what that leads to.

Have you had time for adding +qt59 variant for qgis3? I made some additional tests and it's high possibility that the problem is with QT 5.10

Not yet, but I shall work on it next week as I’m on vacation. Sorry for the delay.

Well, it would be worth experimenting to know if this is caused by qt or not. I can post a modified Portfile with a +qt59 option meant to built with that version of Qt, if you want

I'd be happy to test out such a Portfile. The open file dialog issues related to #56164 are more my issue (using recent files as a workaround works okay in the meantime, but there's no way to export images from QGIS until that dialog works again), but it sounds like Qt 5.9 may be the culprit there too.

It would be nice to have such a variant for troubleshooting.
